Two ways to ride together (plus a coastal update) 🌊🚲

Hi Reader!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about why I started this community.

It was to help everyone get out and ride, whether that’s halfway across the world or just down the road.

With that in mind, I have two very different things on the go that I’d love for you to be part of.

1. The Jurassic Coast Guide

I’m turning that epic ride around the GB coast for the RNLI, into a full Digital Guide, starting with the Jurassic Coast.

It’s for anyone who wants to cycle the coast and see the views, without stress or anxiety, and it's full of the 'insider' knowledge I gathered along the way.

I'm making it live very soon, and I want to give you the chance to be at the front of the queue. See below.

2. The 'Local' Project: A Mid-Week Social Ride

The idea is to get a local group together for a simple, 1-2 hour social loop. No pressure, no 'epic climbs', just a chance to meet other riders in the area and grab a coffee along the way.

The pace will be steady and leisurely - you don't have to be a regular rider, just someone who can cycle and wants a bit of company.

Am I sending the right info to the right people?
You can help me...

How to get involved:

Reply to this email with one of the following words...

  • Reply "GUIDE" if you want to be on the list for the Jurassic Coast Guide.
  • Reply "RIDE" if you’re local (Bristol, North Somerset) and want an invite to the 1-2 hour social meet up.
  • Reply "BOTH" if you want it all!

I’m really excited to get this community off the screen and onto the road.

Make the most of every moment.

Alan :-)

Hello Reader! I hope you’re enjoying the summer and getting some good miles in on the bike! Since we last spoke, I’ve been working on something really exciting… I’ve launched a new cycle4fun website — designed to help cyclists like you turn the dream of an overseas cycling holiday into a stress-free reality. For years I’ve organised trips where ordinary cyclists have ridden through extraordinary places. Now, instead of booking an expensive tour (£1,500+ for a group or ~£800 for self-guided),...

Dedicated cycle paths, UK v Netherlands

Europe has a whole infrastructure geared to safe and pleasurable cycling, so why are we so far behind? Plus there are still some major issues and misconceptions about electric assisted bikes, so I'm going to attempt to clear them up... Are you scared to cycle in Britain? Cycling around the GB coast has introduced me to people from many different backgrounds, and when I ask why they don't cycle more, the answer is the same - because they are scared. Countries like Northern Italy, Austria,...
